The Mayor of Bangem Council, Ekungwe Kang Christopher in collaboration with the Divisional Delegation of Housing and Urban Development, MINHDU, Kupe Muanenguba, have set up a recycling center in Bangem. The recycling center was announced by the Divisional Delegate, MINHDU, K/M, Orock Takang Ewube on March 20, 2025 during the official launching of the 2025 Clean Cities Contest in Kupe Muanenguba. In a display of community spirit, Bangem Women and Daughters Development Association (BAWODDA) Douala Branch has donated two grass cutters and six trash cans to Bangem District Hospital.
