Yikilah Shey Ndahne, who hails from Bangem, Kupe Muanenguba Division, South West Region has released best Christmas Carols titled “Merry Christmas, God is Here” and another, “Christmas is Here.”
The songs were recorded in the SYN-C studio in Cairo, Egypt and she has an audience above five thousand on U-Tube. The audience increases with time. The lyrics of the songs combined with background music are an attraction to viewers and listeners.
Speaking to The Ultimate, Yikilah said she was motivated to get into music when she was seven years old. “My parents took me to watch a concert at the Yaounde Congress Hall. Amongst the many musicians, Bebe Manga and Manu Dibango caught my attention. That is how I developed the passion for music.” She stated.
The artist said since that night, she has been into music and she is motivated to perform because of the joy music brings to her audience.
As an old talent, Yikilah has performed thrice before an audience of over one thousand spectators on Common Wealth Day events, weddings and other ceremonies. It is her wish that she gets sponsors to support her dream to the satisfaction of the whole world.
One among many of her listeners described the sound quality of her music as excellent.
The artist is a graduate from Our Lady of Lourdes Secondary School, Mankon Bamenda, North West Region and of the University of Buea, Cameroon before pursuing further studies.
Professionally, Yikilah is in the banking sector and works in Egypt. She travels extensively on international assignments. She spends many of her holidays at home-Cameroon, particularly Bangem, falling in unreserved love with the good climate, excellent scenery of undulating hills, good vegetation where one finds grassland shaking hands with the forest.
She is a mother of one boy.
