The minister, Assistant Secretary General at the Presidency of the Republic, Elung Paul Che has told chiefs of Kupe Muanenguba that as they sent him to hunt for projects in the division, he has made a good catch.
Minister Elung was addressing about two hundred chiefs in Bangem, May 2, 2025 at the Kupe Muanenguba Chiefs Conference.

“I feel honoured and privileged to be with you and mingle with the chiefs of Kupe Munanenguba. By some coincidence, I am a minister of the Republic, I am a son of Kupe Muanenguba, so I am your son.” He told the chiefs.
The Minister said sometime in 2023, he met with his fathers (the chiefs) in Bangem that there might be some good luck in the horizon, the Bangem – Nguti road.

He said the major problem of Kupe Muanenguba is road, and the population of Nguti has suffered seriously, especially having access to the administrative headquarters, Bangem.
He lamented to reach Bangem from Nguti, people have to travel from Nguti through Meme, Fako and Moungo Divisions before reaching Bangem, the divisional headquarter, whereas the Bangem-Nguti road is less than 60kms.

The minister said by some luck, he submitted the Bangem-Nguti road project to President Paul Biya and it was approved for construction, while several other national projects were kept aside.
“Today 2025, we have seen that work has already started on the Bangem-Nguti road. That is why we have come to thank the Head of State.” He added.

Minister Elung was happy that the Grand Thank You Meeting to appreciate the President Biya for the Bangem–Nguti road construction project coincided with the chiefs conference.
He said they have every reason to be proud to belong to Kupe Muanenguba and to thank the Head of State for granting them the biggest develop project in the division, the Bangem–Nguti road.

The minister said as an association of wisemen, they should deliberate of issues governing the division, settle crisis, promote peace and harmonious living in the division.
“Don’t leave our culture in the hands of the administration alone. Always advise the administration especially on issues of our culture and succession, as some of them may not know our customs and tradition.” He added.
