Epolewane Verkline, Civil Administrator and Divisional Officer of Limbe III Sub Division has called on women to support and celebrate each other daily.
The civil administrator was speaking to The Ultimate on March 6, 2025 where she advised women to learn to lift up their peers.
“We cry for equality and recognition and at the same time, we run down ourselves”. She lamented.
“We have to celebrate and encourage ourselves before anybody do it for us. On Women’s Day, we should know that we are all important in every role we play”. The DO added.
According to Epolewane, from the bayam sellam to the magistrate, the banker, the housewife, police woman and in whatever domain women find themselves, they must understand that they are powerful and a reliable force for community transformation.
As DO, Epolewane said her first duty is the maintenance of law and order, representing the government and the Head of State in her sub division, protecting women all the way.
She said being a career woman and handling family is not easy. However, she added that proper planning and time management has helped her to succeed over the years. She said her supportive family has been helpful as well.
Epolewane said she was inspired by other women like Gwendoline Abunaw, Michel Obama, Orpra, Nah Winfred, Nalova Lyonga, amongst others. “I hope that one day, I will be an inspiration to other women in the society who will contribute to the development of their communities and the nation at large”. She added.
The Divisional Officer hails from Bangem Sub Division with her mother from Nkikoh and her father from Poala village.
