Ex-students of Government Bilingual High School, GBHS Bangem, BESTA, have lamented over dilapidated nature of the institution, urging the principal to reinstate the lost glory. BESTA members were reacting on October 28, 2023 during their Annual General Assembly at the campus of GBHS Bangem. Parents of Government Technical High School, GTHS Bangem have accused the Parent Teachers Association, PTA of embezzlement of funds. This took place at the PTA General Assembly meeting on October 10, 2023 at the school campus scheduled for the evaluation of the 2022/2023 academic year. Works on the Bangem- Melong road has intensified ahead of the November 2023 International Banana/Plantain Festival celebration in Bangem, Kupe Muanenguba Division, South West Region. The road construction company currently working on the road is concentrating on the Mbuassum – Bangem stretch of road. Meanwhile the 36km stretch of Melong – Bangem road is expected to be tarred by surface stressing.
