The Senior Divisional Officer, SDO of Kupe Muanenguba, Mungambo Ekema William has clashed with the Mayor of Bangem Council, Ekungwe Kang Christopher over water crisis in Bangem. This took place during the Second Ordinary Session dedicated for the examining and adoption of the Bangem Council Administrative, Management, and Stores Accounts for the 2024 fiscal year, held on May 9, 2025 at the Bangem Council Chambers. Our sub division is one of the richest in terms of resources, but very poor because we lack roads to transform these resources into financial gains. The Bangem-Nguti road project under construction is a generational breakthrough to Kupe Muanenguba Division. Generations of politicians from this division have tried in the past for us to have this road, but failed. Special appreciation to Minister, Deputy Secretary General at the Presidency of the Republic, Elung Paul Che who lobbied for this project from the Head of State and it was granted. The population within this area has suffered for so many years. This road will help to disenclave Nguti and Bangem Sub Divisions seriously. People will now have the means to transport their produce to the market, buyers will easily reach out to villages for business. This will affect livelihoods and reduce poverty.
