The Sub-Divisional Delegation of Women’s Empowerment and the Family, MINPROFF Bangem, in collaboration with the Bangem Council, have empowered women in the sub division on effective leadership and land ownership.

The ceremony which took place recently in Enyandong village, Ebamut Zone, Bangem, on the occasion of the 63th edition of African Women’s Day, under the theme, “Advancing Social and Economic Justice for African Women through Reparations.”

Speaking to women of the seven villages within the zone at Government Practicing School (GPS) Enyandong, Epumangando Synthia Epede Bih, MINPROFF Sub Delegate Bangem, said the establishment of the International Pan-African Women’s Day was attributed to the visionary Malian activist and politician, Aoua Keita in 1974.
According to Epumangando, women must arise, break barriers, own land, and destroy every limits tying them behind.

She cautioned that as women, they are leaders and must invest in sports for better health, and take part in socio-economic activities.
The sub delegate promised to organize more trainings on leadership and related fields for women to acquire and manage assets for a better future.
The Mayor of Bangem Council, Ekungwe Kang Christopher expressed joy for being part of the celebration.
He said since women play an important role in the society, Bangem Council will always accompany them to realize their projects and to fulfil their visions and goals, especially in leadership and land rights issues.

The Divisional Delegate of Women’s Empowerment and the Family, Kupe Muanenguba, Ngwene Cecilia Mbolle congratulated the women for their sacrifice in ensuring that the event is a success.

She cautioned the women that since learning is a continuous process, they should cease every opportunity to acquire new skills and upgrade themselves in the society.
The delegate assured that the doors of MINPROFF family is ready to help them at all times.
Speaking to The Ultimate, Abwe Jenette, President of Bangem Women’s Forum said celebrating the African Women’s Day is an opportunity to enhance socio-cultural aspects of women.

“I wish to encourage my women that as African women, they have a major role in the advancement of the society. They should empower themselves in all aspects of life.” She added.

The Women’s Leader of Ebamut Zone, Mbine Monica, appreciated Epumangando and the MINPROFF family for always empowering the rural woman. “Today, I have learnt about our rights as women, and the power we have in the society.” She added.

It should be noted that Mayor Ekungwe donated all the gifts handed to women of Ebamut zone as they celebrate the International Day of the African Woman.
