The Senior Divisional Officer of Kupe Muanenguba, Mungambo Ekema William and the Mayor of Bangem Council, Ekungwe Kang Christopher have applauded the population of Bangem Subdivision for upholding peace and massively participating in the 53rd National Day Celebration on May 20, 2025.

The officials were reacting to the press at the end of the National Day celebration at Paul Biya’s Stadium Bangem, under the theme, “Army and the Nation United for a Cameroon Turned Towards Peace and Prosperity.”
According to Mungambo, the mammoth crowd at the grandstand is proof of the fact that the population has embraced peace, as preached by H.E President Paul Biya.
He added that the socio-cultural activities at the grandstand with traditional dances across the nation symbolizes unity in diversity.
The SDO called on the population to live in peace and harmony with one another for a united and prosperous Cameroon.
Meanwhile Ekungwe described himself as a happy mayor considering the crowd that came out from all the clans in Bangem municipality to celebrate national unity.
“We are lucky to enjoy peace in Bangem Municipality. Thanks to the youths who heeded to this call and decided to return to their farms to cultivate food and cash crops with the notion that they have to feed Cameroon and neighbouring countries.” He disclosed.

He advised the youths to be hard working and to develop a mindset of peace, stability and growth of Bangem municipality and the nation at large.
Also, Etape Judith Mbole, South West Regional Councilor said she was happy the entire population has come out to celebrate. “Let’s continue to live in peace, harmony, and prosperity.” She revealed.

Other activities that spiced the day include; military and civilian march past, award of trophies to winners of the inter service football competition, other prizes, socio-cultural animation, amongst others.
