In a heartwarming display of solidarity and commitment to their alma mater, GBHS Bangem Class of Excellence 1992/1993 ex-students, have left a lasting legacy by donating computers and other essential items to support the academic development of their alma mater.

This was part of their All General Assembly of the 1992/1993 class, that took place from March 28 to 29, 2025.
Speaking at the donation ceremony in the campus of GBHS Bangem March 28, the National Coordinator of the ex-students, Sone Akale Ramsom disclosed that the main purpose of their reunion is to give back to the school community which moulded them to great men and women.

He said by donating four gas cookers accompanied with filled gas bottles, five set of computers, two footballs, two handballs and jerseys, it was their own way to give back to their roots and encourage students of the institution to study conveniently and produce best results in Cameroon.
“These items will help students in the departments of Home Economics and Computer Sciences to achieve their dreams.” Akale added.

According to the Coordinator, with their slogan “Education for Service”, their general assembly is a forum to unite and share past experiences and old memories .
In an academic discourse by one of the ex-students, Ndipenock Roseline, now a Guidance Counsellor, she talked on the importance of time management and how time consciousness can facilitate the success of students. “If you want to be a hero, you should be a good time manager.” She cautioned.
In another discourse by ex-student Ekane Bryan, Vice Principal, GBHS Bertoua, he talked on ‘study skills for success in a low resource environment’, encouraging students to create study groups.
Reacting after receiving the gifts, the principal of GBHS Bangem, Nkwelle Cletus Sume expressed gratitude to the ex-students for their generosity and commitment to the school.

“We are grateful for this great support of our alumni who are setting an example for our current students.” He stated.
According to the principal, the gifts will go a long way to enhance their educational programs and help students to produce excellent results.
Speaking to The Ultimate, Sone Relindis Ngoh, a form five student expressed gratitude to the ex-students for the items donated to the school. She said this will help them in their practical sessions.

However, Sone pleaded that students need a computer science teacher to help drill them on basic computer skills and put the equipment to effective use.
Other activities that spiced the General Assembly of the 1992/1993 Batch of Excellence include excursion to Ndibse Hot Spring, a football match and a gala night.
