Amongst the three councils in Kupe Muanenguba Division, South West Region, Bangem Council with 42 projects is leading in the execution of Public Investment Projects with 85.35% physical realization rate and 36.87% financial execution for the third quarter.
The revelation was made by the Divisional Delegate of Economy, Planning and Regional Development Kupe Muanenguba, Ntoi Eugene Nja, recently in Bangem during the participatory committee meeting for the follow up of public investment projects.
He said Nguti Council with eight projects follows with 65.29% physical realization and 31.42% financial execution, while Tombel Council with 13 projects trails with 40.21% physical and 37.76% financial execution rate.
The delegate further disclosed that projects under the divisional vote holding has a physical execution rate of 97.71% and financial, 69.72%.
Progress in 3rd Quarter
Earlier in his address, the Chairman of the Divisional Participatory Follow-up Committee Meeting for the Execution of Public Investment Budget for Kupe Muanenguba, Hon Dr. Fonge Julius said the overall physical realization rate of projects for the division stood at 65.29 % (percent).
He said for the 2024 financial year, Kupe Muanenguba received a total amount of one billion, seventy five million, twenty five thousand (1.075.025.000) FCFA for forty two projects to be managed at the divisional level.
Dr. Fonge analyzed that during the first quarter, the physical execution rate stood at 3.7% while financial execution was 0%.
He added that in the second quarter, the physical execution rate rose to 39.93 % while financial was 20.26%.
The Chairman was elated that currently sitting at the third quarter, the physical realization has increased to 65.29% and financial 31.42%.
However, Hon. Fonge lamented that the third quarter realization is still far from achieving their objective because the execution rate was supposed to be above 75% for the physical and financial execution rates respectively, in order to guarantee a 100% realization by the end of the year.
That notwithstanding, Hon Fonge congratulated Bangem Council for taking the lead and all stakeholders within the execution chain for the progress made during the third quarter.
Some of the recommendations of the meeting include; that all credit cards below FCFA 5 million should be executed without delay.
They resolved that all contractors with pending jobs in the division should finish them before the end of the financial year on the 30th of November 2024.
Members also resolved that authorizing officers should work in synergy with the technical services by transmitting necessary documents on time to enable them do proper follow up of projects.
Also present at the meeting was the First Assistant Senior Divisional Officer of Kupe Muanenguba, Djaone Mouigium, the Mayor of Bangem Council, Ekungwe Kang Christopher, the Paramount Ruler of Bangem, HRM Chief Nnane Nnoko Emmanuel, amongst others.
