Khaliq Melle Sanda’s Foundation has donated text books to class six pupils of Government School, GS Epenebel, Nninong, Bangem Sub Division, Kupe Muanenguba.
The text books were handed to the pupils on October 23, 2024 at the school campus.
While addressing the staff, pupils and parents of the institution, Diabe Elvis Nzuonkwelle disclosed that the foundation was founded in 2021 after the death of 24 years old Khaliq Melle Sanda.
He said Sanda was diagnosed with lung cancer at the age 19 and his life was cut short at age 24 after fighting a long battle with the rare subtype cancer.
Diabe said Sanda’s life was a testament of courage, resilience and the power to human spirit.
He lamented that despite Sanda’s battle with this deadly disease, he inspired countless individuals with his unwavering optimism, unrelenting passion for life.
He disclosed that Sanda was longing to be a psychiatrist, but education was his beacon. He said Sanda believed knowledge was the key to unlocking potential and his tireless efforts left an indelible mark on the educational landscape”.
Diabe added that Sanda was involved in mentoring students and peers, advocating for accessible education, supporting education initiatives and inspiring a love for learning.
“The Sanda and Nzuonkwelle’s family want to keep honoring Khaliq Sanda’s legacy by supporting educational courses and cancer awareness through Khaliq Melle Sanda Foundation.
Diabe added that the text books donated to class six pupils is to enable them unlock the doors into secondary schools. He suggested that the pupils use these books with care and pass them over to the next batch of pupils.
“Khaliq Melle Sanda Foundation will continue to stand by pupils as they drive towards their educational goals”. He disclosed.
While receiving the text books, the Head Teacher of GS Epenebel, Epie Edwin Akame thanked the Khaliq Melle Sanda Foundation for assisting his class six pupils with text books. He said most parents have not bought text books for their children because of hardship.
He assured that the books will help the pupils acquire excellent results at this year’s First School Leaving Certificates and Common Entrance Examinations.
Okassie Ekane Michel, Pedagogic Inspector, Bangem representing the Inspector of Basic Education, Bangem Sub Division, Kang Nzele Amate, congratulated the foundation for making study easy for kids in the school.
Meanwhile the Class Six teacher of the school, Mengale Marceline Muke said the text books will reduce her workload because all the pupils will each have a text book and a workbook.
While thanking the foundation for the powerful outreach, she prayed other elite copy this example to uplift the education standard of Nninong Clan.
The president of the Parent Teachers Association, Ndoh Lawrence Njume said the best child for a child is education. He thanked the Nzuonkwelle’s family for investing in the education of their children.
Speaking to The Ultimate, a Class Six pupil of the school, Akwi Fidel Ewange promised to use the text books effectively in class. On behalf of all the pupils, he thanked the Khaliq Melle Sanda Foundation for assisting the school.
Also present at the event was HRM Chief Nhon Ntang Nzuonkwelle of Nkack-Nninong.
