The Chief of Nkack village, Bangem Sub Division of Kupe Muanenguba, HRM Chief Nhon Nzuonkwelle Ntang together with his traditional council, have donated school needs to kids of Government Nursery School, Nkack.
The donation took place on September 17, 2024 at the school campus in Nkack. Some of the materials donated include text books, exercise books, pens, pencils, rulers, erasers, amongst others.
Speaking at the ceremony, the chief said they were motivated to support their children as their own way to encourage them to study and produce excellent results for the 2024/2025 academic year.
He said together with the Nkack Traditional Council and some elite, they bought school needs and didactic materials for their children to ease the burden on parents.
“We have realized that children can have quality education in the village like those in the cities. They know the culture more than children living in the city. The best we can do is to encourage them.
We are appealing to others to follow this example because we want this gesture to be done yearly.” He pleaded.
The Chairman of Nkack Traditional Council, Ngwese Metuk Samuel appreciated their Chief for the peace that reigns in Nkack and for initiating the idea of supporting their children with school needs.
He described the gesture as a model of development and pleaded with other internal and external elite to support this gesture so that next donation should be bigger and better.
Ngwese also pleaded with the government to build a structure for the school because the school is presently operating at someone’s residence.
Okassie Ekane Michel, Pedagogic Inspector, Bangem representing the Inspector of Basic Education, Bangem Sub Division, Kang Nzele Amate, congratulated the Nkack community for making study easy for kids in the school.
He called on the kids to study hard as emerging champions in the nation. Okassie told the Headmistress to make good use of the didactic materials donated and promised to channel all their worries to hierarchy.
Ebude Ekane Justina, the Headmistress said it was the second time she is receiving didactic materials from the Chief since the creation of the school.
She said the gesture from the chief and councilors will ease the load of buying text books, pencil and eraser from parents.
The Parent Teachers Association, PTA President, Ekewembwe Valentine thanked the chief and his councilors for supporting education in Cameroon.
He said the present structure hosting the school has been provided by Chief Ntang.
The President recalled that last academic year, their chief provided a vehicle to transport children to school free of charge daily and also donated food items for the kids.
He also pleaded with the government to provide a structure to the school and send teachers to support the headmistress who is the lone staff of the school.
One of the beneficiaries, Etuge Blessing, a Nursery Two pupil of Government Nursery School, Nkack thanked the chief for his books and pencils.
