Santos FC of Mbat has qualified for the semi-finals of the Ekah’s Inter-quarters Football for Peace and Harmony Bangem.
Santos FC picked their qualification ticket after silencing Chambers FC by two goals to nil in the second semifinals match played on August 15, 2024.
The match which spectators described as a clash of the titans, started with both teams fiercely attacking and gunning for the goals.
The 90th minutes ended with a zero tie for both teams. A prolongation ensued.
In the second half of the prolongation, Santos FC devirginized the net of Chambers FC in a powerful shot that left to the goal keeper Paul Ghilum bewildered, about fifteen minutes to the end of the first half.
Again at about seven minutes to the end of the prolongation, Santos FC scored the second goal.
The mammoth crowd and supporters of Santos FC danced and celebrated in euphoria at Paul Biya’s Stadium Bangem.
But the atmosphere became tensed with fighting, attacks and counter attacks between players and supporters of both teams.
The timely intervention of the forces of law and order restored calmness at the stadium. The match finally ended in serenity.
Santos FC now joins Mboku FC for the finals of the competition scheduled on August 24, 2024.
