The Frienship Circle, TFC has donated medical supplies to Bangem Health District, Kupe Muanenguba Division of the South West Region.
Items donated include; chloraPrep, tip applicator, levothyroxine oral solution, penciclovir cream and supplements eye glasses, gloves, amongst others.
The event took place on August 1, 2024 at the office of the Bangem Health District.
Speaking during the event, the Chairman of TFC’s Community Outreach Committee, Eugen Nkede said their mission and vision is to provide immediate and lasting solutions to children and families living in poverty in Africa through initiatives that focus on professional and health education, skills and leadership development.
While appreciating the President of The Friendship Circle, Njukang Asong, he said the donation to Bangem District is in line with the realization of one of TFC’s goals which is donating medical supplies to multiple hospitals in Cameroon.
He added that TFC is making sure that the health care situation of communities is improved with local support and contributions from donors.
Nkede said as they have started with medical supplies, they will return again shortly to donate medical equipment.
“It is actually satisfying to see the population celebrating and happy with the medical supplies they have received”. He added.
The Chairman told The Ultimate that TFC is a group of 25 friends from Cameroon coming together to support communities.
He said their goal is to make sure that all 10 regions of Cameroon benefit from TFC.
According to Nkede, the group has donated about 50 hospital beds to 10 hospitals in the Fako Division, medical supplies to 31 hospitals in Bangem, Tombel, and Nguti.
While receiving the items, the District Medical Officer, DMO of Bangem Health District, Dr, Nkengafac Fobellah thanked TFC for reaching out to the District. He promised to distribute the supplies to all hospitals in Bangem district.
Meanwhile, Dr. Esambe Emmanuel, Director of Bangem District Hospital expressed satisfaction after receiving the medical supplies for his hospital.
“We are incredibly grateful to have received these essential supplies from The Friendship Circle. This will go a long way to improve the healthcare of Bangem population”. He added.
The Divisional Officer of Bangem Sub Division, Dairo Saly on his part, thanked TFC for reaching out to Bangem. However, he stated that the hospital still faces a lot of problems like electricity challenges. “The hospital lacks enough solar energy. TFC should look into this situation and help the population of Bangem”. He pleaded.
The Paramount ruler of Bangem HRM, Chief Nnane Nnoko Emmanuel appreciated TFC’s efforts. “If someone has a good heart, appreciates it because not everyone who has in abundance gives to the community or his people”. He disclosed and thanked TFC for their good initiative to Bangem Sub Division.
Also the Chief of Center of Ndibsi Integrated Health Center, Nnane Judith said she was so delighted to receive the medical supplies as it will improve the health of her people in the village.
The Secretary General of Bangem Council, Clementine Agbor Osim represented Mayor Ekungwe Kang Christopher of Bangem Council at the event.
