HRM Chief Mbong Walter Mesumbe of Kack village, Muasundem Clan, Tombel Sub Division has communed with the Kack community in Fako Division.
The ceremony took place on July 21, 2024 in Mukundange, Limbe II Sub Division.
Prior to the Mukundange sojourn, Chief Mesumbe visited the Paramount Ruler of Limbe, HRM Chief Ikanea John Manga Williams. The courtesy visit centered on collaboration between Kack village and Limbe.
The traditional rulers also talked on the cultural values of Kack and Limbe and how to enhance and uphold both cultures.
In his welcome address at Mukundange, the President of Kack Development Association, KAVDA Fako, Ernest Akume described the day as memorable because it was the first time for them to sojourn with their chief in Fako.
Akume thanked God for blessing them with Chief Mesumbe as the 5th Chief of Kack. “Your Majesty, given what you have done since you came to the throne, we are proud to have you as chief”. He disclosed.
The president encouraged their traditional ruler to remain focused and continue to execute his agenda of humanitarian and development initiatives.
Akume lauded their ruler for his election as scribe of Tombel Chiefs Conference, his recent election as Secretary General of the Kupe Muanenguba Chiefs Conference and his recognition as Knight of the Cameroon Order of Merit, amongst others.
“More awards and honours are coming to you and by extension to us your people. We are proud of you”. He added.
The Royal Message
In his royal message, Chief Mesumbe said he was excited meeting his people in Fako Division.
He said after his enthronement in 2021, barely four years in office he has given Kack a new vision.
The Chief recounted that they have reorganized the administration of the palace, given functions to some personalities such that the palace can produce greater results.
He added that they have created and started Ngande’turukang (Feast of Light) during Christmas to let the light of Christ shine upon their people and to share the love of the season.
Peace and Development
The Kack ruler further told his people that he plans to foster peace and development of the village by lobbying for projects to enhance the development of Kack.
He mentioned the Kack-Nhiangse-Manjo road by the Ministry of Public Works, the solar electrification of Kack by the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing, the ongoing hygiene and sanitation campaign in the village, amongst others.
The Chief encouraged his people to also invest in the development of Kack by building modern houses in the village.
He told Kack elite in Fako to be peaceful at all times, respect authorities of Fako and the laws of the land.
Also present at the ceremony was HRM Chief Ebungalame of Atob village as special guest.
