Christians of the Bakossi North Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, PCC, have received their new Presbyterial Secretary, PS and parish pastor of Bangem Parish, Rev. Dr. Elangwe Namaya Samson.
The welcome ceremony took place recently at PC Bangem parish. The Christians in jubilation, celebrated as the legs of the new PS touched the soil of Bangem.
In a service led by the Presbyterial Treasurer and resident pastor of PC Muebah-Nninong, Tangyie Ndoh Neville, he enjoined all to work in collaboration with the new PS.
Speaking to The Ultimate, the New Prebyterial Secretary appreciated Christians and the population for coming out massively to receive him. He prayed for God’s blessings on the sacrifice exhibited by the Christians.
Rev. Elangwe also appreciated God for bringing him and his entourage safely from his previous station to Bangem.
In her words of excitement, the Vice Chairperson of PC Bangem, Elder Abwe Alice Ndobe said they are so overwhelmed and glad to receive their new pastor. She was grateful to the Almighty God for blessing them with a new Presbyterial Secretary.
“This is a new journey that we are about taking and we are all ready to work with our Presbyterial Secretary and Parish Pastor”. She added
However, Elder Abwe was worried with the short term transfer of most of their pastors. She appealed with PCC authorities to give enough time to the new Presbyterial Secretary for Bakossi North so that they can effectively execute drafted projects and fulfill their missions for the presbytery.
Rev. Dr. Elangwe takes over from Rev Eyakwe Joseph Tata Nagunda, transferred as Parish Pastor of PC Bota Middle Farms Limbe.
Rev. Dr. Elangwe Namaya is a senior pastor of the PCC for close to thirty years. He has been parish pastor in several congregations of the PCC.
He served as PCC Archivist at the Synod Office in Buea for several years. He also served as Director of the Church Center in Kumba. Until is appointed as Presbyterial Secretary for Bakossi North, he served as Parish Pastor of PC Ikiliwindi, Kumba Presbytery.
Rev. Elangwe holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Public Administration and Public Policy Analysis from the University of Buea. He also holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration from the University of Buea and a Bachelor of Science, B.SC. in Theology from the Presbyterian Theological Seminary, Kumba.
Rev. Dr. Elamgwe equally holds the following diplomas; Diploma in Leadership, Principles and Skills, Diploma in the German Language and Diploma in Library Science and Documentation. He is married and a father of four boys.
