Lives Savers Foundation, LISAF has intensified preparations ahead of the celebration of the 34th edition of the Day of the African Child in Tombel, Kupe Muanenguba Division, South West Region, with the award of prizes to meritorious children.
The ceremony that has been programmed for June 15, 2024 , will be under the patronage of the Divisional Delegate of Social Affairs, MINAS, Kupe Muanenguba, Etaka Hannah. The theme of this year’s celebration is placed under the theme, “Education for All Children in Africa: The Time is Now”.
According to the Executive Director of LISAF, Rev. Akisseh Makoge Ernest, they are celebrating in pursuant to their goal to promote children’s education as a fundamental right of the child as enclosed in the United Nations Convention on the right of the child in 1989.
Akisseh said in this light, LISAF shall award special prizes to children based on their academic performances in the 2023/2024 academic year.
The Executive Director added that this year, they shall award prizes to Kingdom Bilingual Nursery and Primary School, KIBINAPS, Tombel and Unique Bilingual Nursery and Primary School, UBINAPS, Tombel.
He said the ceremony which shall take place at Shalom Mission Church hall Tombel, will also have cultural presentations by children, a presentation of the theme of this year’s celebration by LISAF, award of prizes and gifts and closing remarks by the chair of the ceremony, DD MINAS.
