“I am very happy for my school needs provided by Simple Ladies Association. This will help reduce the stress from my poor parents next academic year ”. Mbube Elvis of Chiefs School, Bangem disclosed.
“Let God continue to uplift our mothers for blessing us with school bags, books, pens and pencils. I promise to study more and to be a good girl when I grow up.” Mbolle Joy, a beneficiary pupil of Government School, Nyan, Bangem Sub Division revealed.
These kids were amongst the over 50 vulnerable children in Bangem Sub Division who benefited school needs from the Simple Ladies Association, Kupe Muanenguba, SLOK.
The association gave out school bags, books, pens, pencils and other gadgets, preparing the kids for next academic year, on May 28, 2024 at Bangem Council Hall.
From the council hall, the ladies moved to Bangem District Hospital, prayed with patients and donated toiletries to them. SLOK members also offered encouraging gifts to doctors and nurses of the hospital.
Addressing the population in the hall, the Ntungwe Songe Perpetua, the Chief Executive Officer, CEO and Team Leader of the association disclosed that Simple Ladies was founded in 2014, with the sole aim of touching lives and reaching out to the less privileged in society.
She said going by their slogan, “touching hearts and changing lives,” they have been reaching out to the vulnerable within the South West Region since its creation.
“So far, we have carried out agriculture projects, visit orphanages to smile with the kids, visit hospitals and pay the bills of patients, paid school fees of vulnerable children and GCE registration fee for those in examination classes.” Songe added.
Meanwhile, the President of Simple Ladies Association, Epote Amate Solange épse Ekane corroborated that the association is a channel through which others can use to reach out to the less privilege. She was happy with the choice of Bangem for this year’s outreach because it is their home division.
Epote cautioned the beneficiaries to use the gifts effectively to improve their standard of living.
The president promised that as resources keep flowing, they will be a channel of continuous blessing to Kupe Muanenguba, the South West Region and Cameroon at large.
The representative of the Divisional Delegate of Social Affair, Kupe Muanenguba, Elime Ekane LiviBrown appreciated Simple Ladies for touching the lives of vulnerable in Bangem.
He pleaded with the association to plan more out reaches to the division for many lives to be touched.
Present at the event was the Second deputy Mayor of Bangem Council, Ekane Eveline Mesode epse Nkwelle.
