The Senior Divisional Officer, SDO of Kupe Muanenguba, Mungambo Ekema William has implored youths to exploit the rich vegetation of the division for better living.
The SDO was speaking to the press at the end of National Youth Day activities on the 11th of February 2024 in Bangem.
He said the division is endowed with arable land and those who have decided to engage in agriculture are doing extremely well.
Mungambo also told youths to form Common Initiative Groups, CIGs, Non-Governmental Organizations, NGOs and cooperative societies to enjoy benefits from the government. “The government has so many tools to make youths have access to finances. You will also bear with me that those who have ventured into online businesses are reaping the fruits.” He added.
“I will like to add my voice to that of the Head of State, H.E. Paul Biya, to encourage youths of Kupe Muanenguba to continue in resilience, discipline and shun information from people who come to destabilize them.” Mungambo reechoed.
Reflecting on this year’s theme, “Youth: Import Substitution and Economic Patriotism for Cameroon’s Development,” the Divisional Delegate of Youth Affairs and Civic Education, Kupe Muanenguba, Ekukolle Eric Ekaney said youths must embark on mass production of goods and services in the country.
“If we keep importing, we stand a lesser chance to succeed. Remember if we import we lose foreign earnings but when we produce and export, we stand a chance of attaining a positive Balance of Payment.” Ekukolle added.
On his part, Justice Etame Fomenky Mayah, Examining Magistrate of the High Court Kupe Muanenguba and Court of First Instance Bangem called on youths to shun vices like drug abuse, prostitution, laziness and other ills that retard community growth.
He said Bangem has been so peaceful for a number of years now and this should continue so that youths of the sub division should join in nation building.
It should be noted that the ceremony in Bangem started with the singing of the National Anthem, followed by a replay of the Head of State’s message to the youths, march past, socio-cultural animation and award of prizes.
