Bakossi North Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, PCC has intensified preparations ahead of the institution and induction of Rev. Eyakwe Joseph Tata Nangunda on the 17th of December 2023 in Bangem.
Rev. Eyakwe who was appointed Presbyterial Secretary for Bakossi North Presbytery and Parish Pastor of Bangem in July 2023 shall be inducted by the Rt. Rev. Dr. Fonki Samuel Forba, Moderator of the PCC.
According to the programme of the induction ceremony, the event will kick off on the 16th of December with the reception of the Moderator at the entrance of Bangem and procession to the church compound at 3:00pm. This shall be followed by choral singing at 6:00pm.
On the 17th of December, the first part of the ceremony is expected to start at 9:00am with a divine service, followed by induction reception rite, generosity to the pastor, speeches, prayers, benediction and photographs.
Meanwhile reception and departure shall constitute the second part of the program.
Speaking to The Ultimate, Rev. Eyakwe said preparations have reached the peak as various committees are working hard to ensure great success of the ceremony.
He said besides the Moderator of the PCC or his representative as guest of honour, he will be expecting Secretary Committee of the Ministry, Rev. Emmanuel Masok, the Constitution Secretary of PCC, Rev. Bame Samuel Nji, and a host of other Presbyterial Secretaries, pastors and other guests of prominence.
He appreciated all the Christians of Bakossi North in all the congregations who have rekindled efforts to ensure the success of the ceremony. “The induction is like a debut to our mission and we are inviting everyone to be present and participate in the ceremony. My vision for Bakossi North is to make the Presbytery more viable and enviable.” Rev. Eyakwe disclosed.
Elder Njabe Cletus Etube, Chairperson of PC Bangem described Rev. Eyakwe as the square peg in the square hole put in place by the Synod Office of the PCC. He said the reverend has brought a lot of changes few months after his appointment. “We are so happy as we prepare for his induction ceremony.” Elder Njabe added.
