The minister of public health, Manaouda Malachie confirmed it through a press release published yesterday 19th April 2023. The center region has been experiencing an upsurge in the cholera cases for over four weeks now. Indeed, cases have been notified and confirmed in the health district of Obala, Djoungolo, cite verte Biyem-Assi Nikolndongo, the statement details.
The minister of public health, Manaouda Malachie, advanced 88 notified cases and 0.5 deaths for a fatality rate of 5.6%.
The epidemic that the nation has been experiencing since 2021, has caused the death of more than 311 people out of more than 15.000 cases identified, according to the minister of public health, Manaouda Malachie.
In the press release, giving the prevailing risk situation, the minister of public health reassures that the necessary preventive and curative measures will continue to be taken in order to protect the population as well as the exposed medical personnels.
