The Divisional Delegate of Public Works, MINTP, Kupe Muanenguba, Shu Renny, has lectured stakeholders on the Cameroon National Flag and its symbols.

This took place on November 3rd, 2025, during the flag hoisting ceremony at the divisional delegation in Bangem, Kupe Muanenguba Division, coordinated by the Senior Divisional Officer of Kupe Muanenguba, Nguia Beina Theophile.

According to Shu, the national flag of Cameroon was adopted in its present form on May 20, 1975, after Cameroon became a unitary state.
He described the flag as a vertical tricolour of green, red and yellow pales, with one yellow five-pointed star in its center.
The delegate added that there is wide variation in the size of the central star, although it is always contained within the inside stripe.
Shu further lectured that the green colour of the flag represents the forests in the Southern part of the country and also symbolizes hope.
He said the red colour is a symbol of unity of the country and the blood shed during the struggle for independence.
According to the Public Works Delegate, the yellow colour of the flag represents the sun, the wealth of the nation, and the savannas in the Northern part of the country.
He concluded that the five-pointed star in the center red band represents the unity of the nation.
“The national symbols of Cameroon include seal, code of arm, anthem, flag and motto.” The delegate added.
Prior to Shu’s presentation, the national anthem was sung in a solemn ceremony, coordinated by members of the Rapid Intervention Batallion, BIR.
Also present at the event was the Divisional Officer of Bangem Subdivision, Dairou Saly, divisional delegates and head of services, the forces of law and order, and staff of the Divisional Delegation of Public works.
