Jacob’s Well Foundation, Britain, has donated a consignment of medical equipment and supplies worth FCFA 85 million to Presbyterian Hospital Nyasoso.
The equipment and supplies were officially handed to the hospital on September 3, 2025 by Ediage Herbert, President Emeritus of Nyasoso Cultural and Development Association and current Board Chair of South West Development Authority, SOWEDA.
While handing over the gifts to the hospital, Ediage thanked Jacob’s Well Foundation for donating essential equipment to the hospital to assist patients, and the population of Nyasoso in particular.
He said the cost of other clearing charges and transportation to Nyasoso at FCFA 7 million, was shouldered by him through a loan from Nyasoso Cooperative Credit Union, NYACUCOOP.
The Board Chair revealed that Presbyterian Hospital Nyasoso used to be one of the best hospitals for the Bakossi people and Cameroon in general. He added that the current state of the hospital is a call for concern to all the sons and daughters of Nyasoso to be committed to its upgrade.
While appreciating their elite, Ekome Nsame, for lobbying for the realization of the project, he urged the hospital authorities to use the equipment for the benefit of patients and the community at large.

The Board Chair equally lauded the Minister of Finance for providing 100 percent tax exoneration for the container at the port, and for their clearing agent, Ngolle Kingsley for offering to remove the container from the port free of charge.
On behalf of the PCC, Rev. Moris Thomata, the Presbyterial Secretary for Bakossi South Presbytery, thanked the donors for meeting the needs of patients at he hospital and Nyasoso community in general. He promised to make good use of the equipment and that their maintenance shall be their priority.
Also reacting to the donation, the resident doctor of the hospital, Dr. Robert lamented that the hospital is dilapidated and in dire need of community support. Like Oliver Twist, he prayed for more support for the hospital from elite and donors.
Nyasoso Community Leader, Ebong Sylvester was happy with the dresses and toys included in the consignment donated to the hospital.
“All our pregnant women shall receive baby dresses free of charge for the next five years. We are grateful to Jacob Well’s Foundation.” He added.
Eong Kalsen, a Nyasoso youth said it is a new dawn for Nyasoso and everyone must put hands on deck to rebuild the hospital again.
