The Kupe Muanenguba II Section (Nguti) of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement, CPDM has used the maiden edition of clans’ inter-quarters/village football competition to rally support for President Paul Biya.
The summer holidays football for peace, development, and progress organized under the patronage of the Director General of the Hydrocarbons Prices Stabilization Fund, CSPH, Okie Johnson Ndoh, ran from August to the first week of September 2025.
Okie Johnson singlehandedly sponsored the male and female tournament that took place in all the twelve clans of Nguti Sub Division.
The Twelve Clans Include Upper Nkongho Mbo, Lower Nkongho Mbo, Lower Mbo, Banyue, Bebum, Mbah, Bafu, Bachui, Mbense, Ngomengoe, Kueh, and Abongoe.
The supervisory and executive committee of the tournament comprised; the Section President, CPDM KM II, Ajang Evaristus, Member of Parliament for Kupe Muanenguba II Constituency, Hon. Dr Fonge Julius, the President of Nguti Cultural and Development Association, NGUSCUDA, Prince Mabengue, and the YCPDM Section President for KM ll, Dr Esong Simon, several meetings were held and directories arrived at to secure a successful jamboree.
The committee bought materials like jerseys, trophies, footballs, and produced banners which were handed to the various clan representatives with strict instructions. They equally reviewed envelopes of Five Hundred and Thirty Thousand Frs (530.000F) per clan to run through the jamboree, with prices allocated to various participatory teams/villages and the cup winners.
Speaking to The Ultimate, the YCPDM Section President for Kupe Muanenguba II, Dr Esong Simon disclosed that the football tournament is the first of its kind and magnitude, organized to cover all the clans of Nguti Sub Division.
He said the objectives of the tournament is to promote the value of peace, unity and solidarity in Nguti Sub Division, rebuild trust, showcase talents, encourage social cohesion and living together amongst their people.
Dr. Esong added that through the tournament they sensitized the youths and the rest of the population on the stakes of the upcoming presidential elections, and for them to vote President Paul Biya at the October 12, 2025, Presidential elections.
The YCPDM Section President on behalf of the youths of Nguti Sub Division, thanked DG Okie Johnson Ndoh for this wonderful initiative that has gone a long way to rejuvenate the party at the grassroots, thereby creating a conducive atmosphere for future campaigns in upcoming elections.
