The Director of Women’s Empowerment and the Family Center (WEFC) Bangem, Kupe Muanenguba Division, Mwene Agnes Senge, has empowered girls in Bangem Sub Division on life changing skills.

This was the outcome of a two-day training that took place recently at the Center.
In her welcome address, the Director appreciated the trainees for their determination to acquire skills at the center to transform their lives.

She told them to monetize knowledge and skills gained at the workshop for a better future and standard of living.
“My dream is to equip young girls in Bangem with skills to break the cycle of poverty and be outstanding in all sphere of life.” She added.

Senge pleaded with the trainees to be ambassadors of the center so that more people in Bangem will enjoy the rich benefits of the program.

She announced that key programs ongoing at the center include Hotel Management and Catering, Office Automation Secretaryship, Tailoring, Hair Dressing, Manicure and Pedicure, amongst others.

The Director equally mentioned that short programs in cookery and games are organized according to the needs of the population.

Within the two days training, Olive Ejang Tebug (Ph.D), Divisional Delegate of Communication, Kupe Muanenguba Division, lectured the students on Career Orientation, building social capital, vision and goals.

Nanine Ntube Ajah drilled the trainees on body beautification, with a practical session on manicure and pedicure.

Meanwhile, Director Senge talked on the Cameroon Cuisine with case study, Bangem. In the practical session, she also trained the students on the production of cold slaw, and fish pie.

Reactions
Speaking at the end of the workshop, one of the trainees, Ekane Kerstin Nange thanked the director for transforming their holidays with skills.

She said as a student in the university, she will produce fish pie and sell to her peers daily in order to raise money to support her studies.
Pride Ewang Anyong appreciated Mwene for impacting them with skills free of charge. She said the lecture on career orientation and social capital has caused a paradigm shift in her life.
Ewang promised to be an outstanding woman in the future by implementing all the skills and knowledge acquired throughout the workshop.
