14 teams are currently battling over FCFA 2 million trophy at the second edition of Ekah Inter-Quarter Football Competition for peace and harmony, Bangem, Kupe Muanenguba Division, South West Region.

The teams are Santos FC, Winners FC, Friends of Friends FC, Bordeaux FC, Apple Boys FC, Muakwe FC, Friends of Friends FC, Mboku FC, Mbuh FC, Inter Miami FC, Qatar FC, Android FC, Twin Lakes FC, and Sunday Sharp FC.

According to the fixtures, the teams grouped under Pool A and B, are currently at the league stage. Quarter finals have been programmed from August 12, 2025, semi finals, August 17, classification, August 21, and finals, August 23, 2025.

The launching ceremony of the competition took place recently at Paul Biya’s Stadium Bangem, under the theme, “Peace, Unity, Social Cohesion and the Development of Local Talents amongst Youths of Bangem and Environs.”

In his welcome address, the First Deputy Mayor of Bangem Council, Epienongene Manga appreciated the Cup donor, Ekah Benjamin Ajebe for respecting his commitment to the youthful population of Bangem.

He said the first edition of the tournament in 2024 recorded resounding success and hoped that that the 2025 edition will be more successful.
The Deputy Mayor called on all participating teams to be disciplined and apply football ethics on the pitch of play, for the promotion of peace, unity, and social cohesion.
He cautioned the players to love each other, encourage friendship, and shun brutality so that the cup donor will be proud to launch other competitions in Bangem.

Mayor Manga called on the population to support the tournament by watching the matches and to give the teams their full support.

While greeting the players ahead of the gala match, the Divisional Officer of Bangem Sub Division, Dairou Saly encouraged them to exhibit great talents in order to attract national and international sponsors.

He hoped that throughout the competition, great footballers will emerge to carry the flag of Kupe Muanenguba high.
Speaking to The Ultimate, Ekah disclosed that motivated by the smooth end of the first edition, he decided to invest in the youths through football.

He promised that within the competition, he will bring football dignitaries to Bangem to help identify talented players for subsequent recruitment to the national team.

Other activities that spiced the ceremony include lighting of the Olympic flame, presentation of the trophy, playbacks and performance by local artist.
