The Community Empowerment Traveling Agency (CETA) has launched the first edition of El Clasico Female Football Tournament, worth FCFA one million (1.000.000) in Tombel, Kupe Muanenguba Division, South West Region.

The launching ceremony took place on Monday July 14, 2025 at the Government School Field Tombel, with ten teams in participation. The two months competition is expected to end on August 20, 2025.
In a special authorization from the Divisional Officer, DO of Tombel Sub Division, Nyam Leonard Njowun, he said the authorization is accorded in accordance with the provision of Law No 90/055 of 19th December 1990, governing public meetings and processions.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Nyam appreciated CETA for empowering women and the girl child in Tombel through the female football tournament.
He said considering that the competition effectively kicked off on Monday, is a reflection of peace reigning in Tombel Sub Division.
The Senior Administrative Officer appealed to all the players to be focus, showcase their talents, and participate with love for one another in the course of the tournament.
Meanwhile the 1st Deputy Mayor of Tombel Council, Enongene Boly Bazil lauded the CETA boss for his development strategies in the municipality through female football.
He said by bringing women to showcase their talent, it symbolizes the good dream he has for Tombel people.

Boly assured that the municipality will continue to support CETA for the realization of their vision.
The Sub Delegate of Sports and Physical Education, Tombel, also thanked Dr Ngwane for occupying the girl child during holidays, through the female tournament.

He said Tombel is more animated with both male and female competitions ongoing in the town. He called on football lovers to identify great talents and produce a good female team in Tombel for FENASCO games, and other competitions.
While addressing the mammoth crowd in the field, the CEO of CETA, Dr Ngwane David Mbebi disclosed that the objectives of the competition is to promote gender equality, sponsor the most talented players to London football academy, and to reduce crimes in the summer holiday by occupying the youths.
He boasted that CETA has opened a new page for female football in Kupe Muanenguba. “We have started in Tombel. The next will be Bangem, and Nguti in the nearest future.” He added.
Besides, the CEO disclosed that their greatest joy is to promote community development-oriented initiatives.
He advised all the teams to exhibit great talents because female football is out to promote peace.
Dr Ngwane told The Ultimate that besides football, they empower communities in education, where outstanding students are sent on scholarship abroad for studies through their community empowerment traveling agency.

He added that they are out to promote good agricultural practices by empowering farmers in various communities in Kupe Munaenguba and beyond.
