Muslims in Bangem Sub-Division, Kupe Muanenguba Division, South West Region, celebrated the Tabaski feast in devotion, generosity, and community unity.
The glamourous ceremony took on June 6, 2025, at Inclusive Practicing School Field Bangem, beginning with prayers coordinated by the Imam of Melong Central Mosque, Moungo Division, Littoral Region, Ousmanou Youssoufou.

At the end of the prayer Session, the Imam revealed that Tahaski, also known as Eid al-Adha, marks a crucial moment in Islamic history, showcasing Ibraham’s unwavering faith and submission to God’s will.
He said it is a time for families to gather, share meals, and strengthen bonds.
Ousmanou advised Muslims to be faithful to their doctrine, live in peace, and respect administrative authority.

Speaking to The Ultimate, the Divisional Officer of Bangem Sub-Division, Diarou Saly said they are commemorating Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail as an act of obedience to God’s command.

He added that the key message addressed to the population was peace, stability and development of Bangem Sub Division and Cameroon in general.
The Head of Muslim Community in Bangem, Yaya Babadem thanked God and appreciated his Muslim friends who came from different angles to share with them.
While calling on Muslims in Bangem to respect their authorities at all times, Babadem pleaded with them to mobilize for the building of their Mosque in Bangem.
He also implored elite of Kupe Muanenguba to help them achieve the Mosque project which will help to consolidate peace in the division.
Mohamadou Iliassou, son of the Imam also thanked God for accepting them to be alive. He said their sacrifice at Tabaski involves slaughtering of sheep, cows, donkey amongst others, though they mostly prefer sheep.
He said they have come to share the sacrificed animal with the less fortunate, promoting kindness, and generosity.
