Bangem Council is the centre of attraction at the ongoing 3rd edition of Councils International Economic Forum, JEICOM 2025.

Investors and other visitors are entreated to kwanmkwala and Esuba (Bakossi Traditional Meal) served with Minak (palm wine) at the conspicuous Bangem Council Exhibition Stand, at the Yaounde Conference Centre.

As the lone council from Kupe Muanenguba Division, South West Region at the international forum wooing investors, the council has styled itself as ‘The Plantain Paradise’ of Cameroon.
The international fair currently taking place at the Yaounde Conference Centre, from June 2 to 4, 2025, is holding under the theme, “Concretizing Partnerships through the Implementation of Projects in Municipalities.”
According to the Mayor of Bangem Council, Ekungwe Kang Christopher, they have come to showcase the economic, touristic and cultural potentials of Bangem municipality for investors to discover that Bangem Municipality is a fruitful zone for investment.
He said the rich volcanic soil at the Muanenguba plains favours a wide range of cash and food crops, with plantain production ranking highest, involving 90 % of the population.

The Mayor also disclosed that Muanenguba plates favours livestock farming in Bangem Municipality. He said cattle rearing, goat rearing, piggery, poultry, and pisciculture is very successful in the municipality.
Ekungwe added that other touristic potentials in Bangem Municipality include, the Muanenguba Twin Lakes and multiple attractions with ecological reserve, undulating vegetation, tower mountain and caldera.
Dressed as a typical Bakossi man, Ekungwe revealed that they are promoting their culture, which is so rich. He said they are projecting kwanmkwala and Esuba to be an international meal.

He was happy that they came with their traditional meal, esuba and kwankwalang, which has been popular during the fair.

While appreciating the hundreds of visitors that passed at the exhibition stand, the Mayor called on the entire population of Cameroon to visit Bangem municipality and discover lots of investment opportunities.
Meanwhile the Second Deputy Mayor of Bangem Council, Mesode Evelyn Nkwelle said some of the products at their stand include plantain and by products like, plantain flour, plantain pastries, plantain biscuits, doughnuts, among others.

She said they are also showcasing other products from Bangem like banana, corn, beans, egusi, and cultural artifacts from Kupe Muanenguba.
He said investors can come to Bangem Municipality with a modern plantain processing industry, open up plantain production basins.
