Generate Employment

Mayor, Nguti Council
The Bangem-Nguti road upon construction will connect Nguti municipality to the rest of the world. Our sub division is one of the richest in terms of resources, but very poor because we lack roads to transform these resources into financial gains. The road will easily connect us to Mamfe and Nigeria where business persons can easily meet producers of food and cash crops for exchange in good and services. This will also generate employment for the youths as they will be engaged in several income generating activities. We have cried for long and President Paul Biya has answered our cry. We say thank you.

Economic Boom

Mayor, Bangem Council
The construction of the Bangem-Nguti road will lead to economic boom in Bangem because it will open up the municipality to inter trade between Bangem and Nigeria. I see a big market for food crops and transformed products like plantain flour and other processed foodstuff. Our farmers will become very rich and the municipality will develop at a very fast rate. Besides, the constructed road will cause Bangem to be cosmopolitan as more people will settle in the town, leading to a high demand in houses for rents and other facilities. I just cannot mention all what this road will bring to us. We are very anxious to see this road completed. We are very happy with President Biya for giving us this road. We thank Minister, Deputy Secretary General at the Presidency for making this to happen to us. We cannot thank you enough. We know that before construction works finish on the Bangem -Nguti road, you will also initiate the Bangem-Tombel road construction project.

Poverty Alleviation

Director, HTTTC, Kumba
The construction of the Bangem-Nguti road has an economic, social and political impact on the population. The population within this area has suffered for so many years. This road will help to disenclave Nguti and Bangem Sub Divisions seriously. People will now have the means to transport their produce to the market, buyers will easily reach out to the villages for business. This will affect livelihoods and reduce poverty. Remember the adage that where a road passes, development follows. This is exactly what will happen to Kupe Muanenguba. We sincerely thank President Paul Biya for the Bangem-Nguti road. Since the President has scratched our back by giving us this road, we are going to scratch his back in the upcoming Presidential Elections by giving him 100 percent vote. Special appreciation to the Minister, Deputy Secretary General at the Presidency of the Republic, Elung Paul Che for the miracle of this road. May God continue to bless you so that you initiate the Bangem-Tombel road and others.

Generational Breakthrough

The Bangem-Nguti road project under construction is a generational breakthrough to Kupe Muanenguba Division. Generations of politicians from this division have tried in the past for us to have this road, but failed. Special appreciation to Minister, Deputy Secretary General at the Presidency of the Republic, Elung Paul Che who lobbied for this project from the Head of State and it was granted. I have always been involved in political campaign teams and it has been very challenging going down to villages along this road for political assignments. It has been frustrating to see how these people trek for days to reach Bangem, their divisional headquarter. Their stories are pathetic; from exploitation by buyers of food and cash crops, food crops abandoned in farms because of no transport means amongst others. When we hear these stories from the weeping population, we also cry and sympathize with them. It is a dream come through that President Biya granted us this road and it is under construction. I want to sincerely thank the Head of State President Paul Biya for his special love for Kupe Muanenguba and for ordering the construction of this road. With the Bangem-Nguti road, Kupe Muanenguba can never be the same again.

Rapid Development

The Bangem-Nguti road is going to ignite rapid development in Kupe Muanenguba. The population of Nguti, especially will easily transport their goods to the market, which will generate high income to the population. The transportation of timber from Nguti too will boost the economy of the municipality. It is unheard of that in this century, people trek for days to reach their administrative headquarters. Just imagine the stress and agony of Nguti people to reach Bangem. They have to travel through Meme Division, to Fako Division, Littoral Region before entering Bangem. This road has brought joy to the population of Kupe Muanenguba. While appreciating President Paul Biya for this project, we pray that the construction company execute this road effectively for posterity.

Touristic Attraction to Lake Bermin

The construction of Bangem-Nguti road will expose the touristic attractions of Bermin village, Nguti Sub Division and other villages as well. Bermin is the hub of palm oil production in the division. We have Lake Bermin which has nine endemic coptodonine cichlid fishes. The number of endemic fishes per area is the highest recorded anywhere. Because there’s no road for this facility to be exploited, it has been abandoned to villagers for subsistence. The Bangem-Nguti road is an answered prayer to Kupe Muanenguba.

Transfer of Wealth to Farmers

The coming of this road will transfer enormous wealth to farmers in Nguti Sub Division. Our division is endowed with enormous resources like food and cash crops, however, because of lack of access roads, or people cannot carry their produce to the market, leading to suffering and poverty. The economic boom of this road will transfer wealth to farmers and this will improve their standard of living. Socially, the people of Nguti will easily communicate and socialize with their friends and families in Bangem because transport cost will reduce significantly. We thank the Head of State for approving the construction of the Bangem-Nguti Road and we doff our hats to Minister Elung Paul Che, Deputy Secretary General at the Presidency for lobbying for this road.

Reduction of Death Rate

The constructed road will open up enormous wealth to this beautiful population of Kupe Muanenguba. Chiefs of this division are so happy for this project because the suffering of our people was beyond measure. Health Centers in the hinterlands lacked the means to refer cases to bigger hospitals because most of them end up dying on the way. This road will not only reduce death rate but also boost the heath conditions of the population. Besides, the trauma of transporting corpses to these villages, especially during the rainy season will reduce because roads will be good.

The Return of Peace

The Presidential gift of the Bangem-Nguti road will accelerate the return of complete peace to Kupe Muanenguba Division. The road project will bring joy to Nguti Sub Division that has suffered serious enclavement as a result of lack of roads. Besides the exploitation of our people by buyers of good and services taking advantage of our porous roads, most people have lost their lives because of difficulties to evacuate them to the hospital. The worst is that the absence of roads has led to rural-urban exodos in our villages. The coming of this road will change the dynamics and our villages will be vibrant again. While thanking President Paul Biya for this precious gift, I want to appreciate Minister Elung Paul Che for lobbying for us to have this project.

Boost in Tourism

We are very happy for the Bangem-Nguti road because our problem for generations has been roads, roads and roads. Just imagine that we produce plantain in huge quantities, we rear goats and do poultry but everything ends in the village. Buyers cannot even manage to meet us in our villages while we live in perpetual hardship. With the coming of this road, things are going to change and our people will be fine again. Also, so many tourists will be attracted to Nguti Sub Division to discover the touristic attractions of Kupe Muanenguba.

I am Parking Out of Douala to the Village

Immediately construction works on the Bangem-Nguti road is completed, I will park to the village. I left the village and settled in Douala because of the difficulties to cope with life in the village. My people are suffering seriously. To leave my village to Bangem, I trek for two days. Even bikes cannot reach the village. We spend a lot on farm input and after harvest, we sell a bunch of plantain at FCFA 150. No matter how prices of cocoa skyrocket, we sell a kilogram at FCFA 450. This is because the cost of transporting a bag of cocoa on head load or motorcycles is almost more than the price per bag of cocoa. I am so happy for what President Biya has done to the people of Kupe Muanenguba. God will continue to bless our father, Minister, Deputy Secretary General at the Presidency for wiping our tears.

Foreign Exchange with Nigerians
The Bangem-Nguti road construction project upon completion will facilitate foreign exchange between Kupe Muanenguba and Nigeria. This is because this division has all resources hunted by Nigerians in Cameroon. With the tarred road, they will have easy access to buy products from the division while Cameroonians too will easily cross over to Nigeria from Bangem to Nguti and Nigeria to buy and sell goods. This road will be indirectly beneficial to enclaved villages along that stretch. some of the villages in the hinterlands can liaise with stakeholders to extend the road to their various villages once the caterpillar passes around their area. The ring road will fasten development of Kupe Muanenguba. My only wish is that this road should not be abandoned like other giant projects in Cameroon. As we prepare for the Grand thank you rally, all Kupe Muanenguba population should come out massively and thank the Head of State and government for this project.

Discovery of Gold

To develop a people there is need to invest on impactful structures. The Bangem-Nguti road that lies on the corridor of West Africa has huge significance to a heavily dependent agricultural population like Kupe Maunenguba Division. We can’t fight poverty without access to the market, without improve road network. Kupe Maunenguba a huge agricultural basin and as a neighbor to the greatest economy in Africa will benefit to its proximity. We should be getting ready to expand the secondary and tertiary sectors within Kupe Maunenguba. With the road and huge arable land, there will be an improvement on the farming system, job opportunities for youths and women, as well as improve on our balance of payment. Besides, the road will lead to the discovery of economic resources in the division such as gold, timber, sand etc. By so doing it will expand the economy of Kupe Maunenguba Division.

Cooperatives and Banks

I see a new dawn for Kupe Muanenguba division with the completion of the Bangem-Nguti road currently under construction. Besides other economic benefits, I see the development of more cooperatives and banks in the division to help farmers. This is because accessibility will enable these tertiary services operate with ease. We thank the Head of State President Paul Biya for this wonderful gift to the division that has come to alleviate poverty and boost the socio-economic status of women.
