Students of Government Technical High School, GTHS Bangem, and other schools in Kupe Muanenguba Division, South West Region, have showcased diverse talents within the context of digitalization.

This took place on March 13, at the launching ceremony of the 2025 edition of the Open Business Day at GTHS Bangem under the theme, “Showcasing the talent and creativity of young secondary school students in the context of the digital economy.”

In his welcome address, the principal of GTHS Bangem, Achalle Stephen said Open Business Day is a platform for young students to showcase their talents in the digital economy. He disclosed that as the world becomes increasingly digital, it is important to empower young people with knowledge needed to succeed.
The principal said this initiative is a step to the right direction, and they look forward to seeing the impact this event on the future of young students.

He was overwhelmed with the creative talents of students as they demonstrate their creativity, entrepreneurial spirit and ability to think critically.
However, Achalle lamented that their major problem is the lack of teachers in core subjects, which affects the performance of students.
While pleading with the government to provide more teachers, he enjoined his staff to take responsibility and be regular in school so as to impact students with more knowledge.
Also speaking at the Open Business Day, the Divisional Delegate of Secondary Education for Kupe Muanenguba, Njikang Peter Mejame, emphasized on the significance of the event.
He said Open Business Day serves as an opportunity for learners and teachers to showcase their competences in various aspects of science and modern technology. “This initiative has provided students with opportunities to showcase their talents and creativity in diverse fields including wood arts, clothing industry, accounting, home economics and marketing departments.” He added.
Speaking to The Ultimate, Ndi Epolle, a student of GTHS Bangem expressed her heartfelt gratitude to all skills gained at the Clothing Industry of the institution. “I am so proud that I am able to sew very well. This is a skill that will help me generate income for life.” Epolle stated and disclosed that she plans to open her own industry in the future.
