The Senior Divisional Officer, SDO of Kupe Muanenguba, Mungambo Ekema William has lauded youths of Bangem for their innovative display during the 59th Youth Day Celebration on February 11, 2025 under the theme, “Youth, Maturity and Responsibility for the Consolidation of Peace, Security, Economic Growth and the Democratic Process”.
While visiting exhibition stands at the end of ceremony in Bangem, Mungambo congratulated Awasume Bertrand Sone, a form three student of Ave Maria College, AVEMACOL Bangem for inventing an electronic vehicle, a speaker, electronic fan, a remote control and a charging system.
Describing him as a future engineer, the SDO said such skills are needed for the emergence of tomorrow’s Cameroon.

Mungambo also appreciated those involved in the transformation of local materials to finished products like the transformation of plantain into plantain flour, that can be used for the production of pastries, cakes, bread, pap, amongst others.
He encouraged them to get into large scale transformation which will not only fetch them continuous income but will also enable Cameroonians to consume home made products.
The SDO equally lauded students involved in the production of chains, hand bags, caps and slippers from beads. He told them to acquire more skills and perfect their work for the preservation of the cultural values of Kupe Muanenguba in particular and Cameroon in general.
While appreciating the massive turn out of the population to celebrate the Youth Day, he said this is illustrative of the peaceful atmosphere reigning in Bangem and Kupe Muanenguba in general.
Meanwhile, the Divisional Delegate of Youth Affairs and Civic Education, Kupe Muanenguba, Ekukolle Eric Ekaney was elated with the success of the ceremony in the division. He appreciated all those who contributed to make the event successful.
Ekukolle told youths to continue in maturity by enhancing the spirit of love and peaceful altitude towards each other, which will go a long way to revitalize peace in the division.
Nzille Nokwe Molyse, Junior Parliamentarian of the South West Region called on youths to be responsible, hard working and register massively on the electoral register in order to participate in the democratic process of Cameroon.
Activities that took place at Paul Biya’s Stadium Bangem include; singing of the national anthem by students of Government Teacher Training College, GTTC Bangem, replay of the Head of State’s message to the youths, march past, socio-cultural animation and award of prizes.
Present at the ceremony were the Mayor of Bangem Council, Ekungwe Kang Christopher, the representative of the President of the High Court of Kupe Muanenguba and Court of First Instance, Bangem, Justice Etame Fomenky Mayah, the State Counsel, Dr. Justice Nkongho Augustine, divisional delegates and service heads, leaders of legalized political parties, traditional and religious authorities, principals, head teachers, amongst others.
