Executive members of the Kupe Muanenguba Chiefs Conference have poured blessings on the Bangem-Nguti road following the kickoff of works on the Bangem-Ndibsi stretch.
The chiefs visited the construction site on September 14, 2024, headed by their president, HRM Chief Nnane Nnoko Emmanuel.
While on the site, the chiefs noted with satisfaction the effective kickoff of construction works from Bamgem to Ndibsi.
The traditional rulers expressed joy and thanked the President of the Republic, HE Paul Biya for the long awaited Bangem-Nguti road project.
Prior to the site visit, the chiefs held a closed door meeting at the palace of their President, who doubles as the paramount ruler of Bangem.
The Ultimate learnt that discussions in the meeting centered on preparations ahead of the official launching of the Bangem-Nguti road project by the Minister of Public Works, Nganou Djoumessi Emmanuel.
The Chief Nnane led executive developed strategies and roles chiefs must play during the official launching of the project by the minister and in the entire construction process.
Kick-off of Construction Works
Meanwhile a ceremony for the kick-off construction works from Bangem to Ndibsi village, took place on September 13, at the project site headed by the Senior Divisional Officer of Kupe Muanenguba, Mungambo Ekema William, in the presence of the contracting firm, the Rapid Intervention Battalion, BIR.
While the effective construction work on the Bangem-Nguti road has been programmed for November 2024, Ndibsi has been earmarked for the storage of construction materials for the road.
It should be noted that a preliminary consultation meeting was held in Yaounde on September 11, 2024 at the Ministry of Public Works.
During the meeting, BIR presented the methodology and work schedule for the project. Both parties assessed and validated the preliminary studies developed for the Bangem-Nguti road project.
The Divisional Delegate of Public Works, Kupe Muanenguba, Shu Renny, has called on the population to collaborate and give their full support for the realization of the construction of the 53km Bangem-Nguti road.
