Some eighty one pupils and students from eleven schools in Nninong Clan, Bangem Sub Division, Kupe Muanenguba Division, have received financial packages in a joint excellence award organized by the Cameroon Centre for Peace Research and Initiative, CAMPEACI and Government Secondary School, GSS Nninong.
The award ceremony was organized in commemoration of the International Day of the African Child at the Summa Cum Laude Information and Learning Resource Centre Ekol, Muebah-Nninong on June 16, 2024. This year’s celebration took place under the theme, “Education for All Children in Africa: The Time is Now”.
The schools that benefitted from the award include; Government Secondary School, GSS Muebah, Government School, GS Muebah, Government School, GS Muaku, Government School, GS Epenebel, Government School, GS Elum, Government School, GS Ebonemin, Government School, GS Muanenguba, Government nursery School, GNS Nkack, Government Nursery School, GNS Muaku, Government Nursery School, GNS Ebonemin, Catholic Nursery School, CNS Elum.
The Prizes
During the ceremony, ten laureates received Cameroon’s High Commissioner to Canada, H.E. Philip Ngole Ngwese’s Prize of Excellence for best female students/pupils. Also, ten laureates received HRH Kiong-Mbah’s recognition of excellence for best teachers in Nninong.
In addition, Dr. Etime Ajie and CAMPEACI awarded eleven laureates for being the most disciplined pupils in primary and nursery school. Inspector Ajang Hilary and CAMPEACI donated the prize of excellence to best four science students in GSS Muebah Nninong.
Barrister Ndode Ngube and CAMPEACI also doled out cash prizes to eleven pupils for courage and determination. Meanwhile, Eleven kids also benefited financial packages from Mrs. Abe Diabe and CAMPEACI as best beginners.
Dr. Samuel Nnah Ndobe and the Ephraim Abwe Diabe Platforms of Excellence (EAD-PFE) also motivated thirteen pupils with cash prizes. They equally donated cash motivation to eleven teachers in the series of leadership award.
Remarks
In his opening remarks, the Programs and Logistic Officer, CAMPEACI, Esapa Abwe Cyrile on behalf of the coordinator Esembeson Abwesum, disclosed that the prize award ceremony is organized in honour of the limitless opportunities that the world offers to children.
He told the over two hundred pupils and students in the hall to be hard working, disciplined, determined, resilience and always trust in the Lord.
Esapa thanked the Ephraim Abwe Diabe Platforms of Excellence (EAD-PFE) for making the ceremony a reality, to all the donors and those who contributed for the success of DAC 2024 in Muebah-Nninong.
The Representative of the Divisional Delegate of Basic Education, DDBE, Kupe Muanenguba, Ndoh Princely Metuge appreciated the organizers of the laudable initiative to promote excellence in Nninong Clan.
Metube, who is the Divisional Pedagogic Adviser at DDBE, K/M called on all pupils to collaborate with their teachers and for parents to send all their children to school.
Prior to the prize award ceremony, a thanks giving service for children took place at Presbyterian Church, Muebah-Nninong. Other activities that spiced the event include quizzes, ballet dances, traditional dances and play backs.
Present at the event was the Regent Clan Head of Nninong, Nhon Ekwenongene Alexis, the principal of GSS Muebah, Nhon Enongene Joseph, head teachers of Nninong, amongst others.
