Agroproduce Management Services, AMS Ltd has emerged winner of the 2023 Sustainable Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Award. This is in recognition of its marked consistency in promoting sustainable cocoa production in Cameroon as well as boosting premium payment to farmers in the sector.
This was during an award night organized by The Guardian Post in Ebolowa, South Region on February 17, 2024
A 12 man team from the institution headed by the Communication/ Liaison Officer, Clerance Forchu received the award in Ebolowa.
Reacting to the award, the Country Representative, of AMS Ltd Cameroon, Etake Divine expressed gratitude to the readers of The Guardian Post for voting the company for the award.
“I will like to extend my deepest appreciation first to God Almighty, then to our esteemed Managing Director, Pim Van de Langenberg and the entire management team of Ecom/ Theobroma (In the Netherlands) for their continuous mentorship and support.” Etake disclosed.
The Country Representative equally praised each and every collaborator within the AMS Ltd team. “Your collective efforts made this possible, and I am truly humbled to be at the helm of such a driven team.” He added.
Etake also recognized cocoa farmers working with their company in Fako, Meme, Haut Sanaga, Sanaga Maritime, Mbam-et-Inoubou, Mbam-et-Kim, Nyong-et-Kelle, Nyong-et- Mfoumou, Mefou-et-Afamba, Lekie and Nkam divisions.
Award Dedicated to Farmers
The elated Country Representative dedicated the award to these farmers who are the backbone of their sustainable cocoa production. He said their commitments to the Rainforest Alliance prescribed practices have made this achievement possible.
“We dedicate these awards to them, and our promise is to continue supporting them. We look forward to the continued support of the media as we strive to further the success of AMS Ltd and maintain our position at the forefront of sustainable cocoa production in the country.” He added
Retrospect of Recognitions
It should be noted that AMS Ltd has won several awards and recognition recently. In 2017, the company won the Recognition of Impact in Cameroon’s Cocoa Certification by the Presidency of the Republic. In 2020 the company emerged Best Sustainable Cocoa Production Organization in Cameroon by the Lifetime Media Awards (AMS Ltd.).
In 2020, the Country Representative won the Best Sustainable Cocoa Production Manager in Cameroon by the Scoop Media. In 2021, Etake again was awarded with Certificate of Achievement for Sustainably Managing Cocoa Production in Cameroon by the Louis Foundation.
In 2023, AMS Ltd won the Best Leader in Sustainable Cocoa Production and Exportation in Cameroon by the Voice Media Group. Also in 2023, Etake was awarded Excellent Managerial Expertise and Stewardship Award by the Voice Media Group and 2024, Sustainable Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Award by The Guardian Post Achievement Award.
