Etake Divine Ngaaje, Country Manager of Agroproduce Management Services, AMS Ltd Cameroon and wife, Mbole Pamela épse Etake have shared Christmas rice, groundnut oil, tomato, sardine, tablets of soap, packets of maggi cube, packets of unrefined salt and powder soap to 100 widows in Bangem Sub Division.
Besides these items, the donors handed FCFA 5000 to every widow for their Christmas drink.
The yearly render-vous handing over ceremony took place on the 16th of December 2023 at the Bangem Council Hall.
Prior to the distribution exercise, Etake exalted the widows from 2Kings 4:1-6 and preached on the theme, “Is there Anything the Lord cannot do?”
He comforted the women that though they may not have a jar of oil in the house like the widow in the bible, they have breath. “Jesus said widow don’t cry. I am the husband to the widows and father to the fatherless. The gifts we have for you today are like the jar of oil in the bible that will never run dry.” Etake disclosed.
The Country Director lamented that his mother was a widow when he were just 8 years old. “I vividly remember the pains my mother went through during Christmas to feed and clothe us. We suffered. But today, God has called me to be a blessing to widows. I remember during one of my visits to the village, a bewildered old man looked at me and said if they were carrying witchcraft into houses in this village, they will never have entered our house because of abject poverty. You passed behind our hands.” Etake revealed.
He encouraged the widows not to wail and cry because God allowed them in the present state to prepare them for greater miracles. “You shall live to eat the fruits of your labour.” He prayed.
Etake appreciated the Director of Women Empowerment and Family Center Bangem, Mwene Agnes épse Enongene for gathering the widows in a very short notice.
In her words of prayers to the widows, Mbole prayed for God’s comfort and blessings on the widows. She admonished God to wipe the secret tears of the widows and provide to them in all circumstances.
Before receiving their gifts, the widows prayed for the couples and showered praises and thanks to God for using them to wipe their tears.
Speaking on behalf of the widows, Emade Ajang Christina thanked the Etakes for restoring hopes to widows through their Christmas gifts. With tears in her eyes, she prayed for God’s abundant blessings on the couples. “For reaching out to us as our husbands would have done when they were still alive, your pockets will never run dry. God will continue to bless and lift you higher in Jesus name.” Emade prayed.
Golden Elondo, a widower in Bangem said it was a big surprise to see someone support widows and widowers. He described the Etakes as God’s sent and pronounced blessings on the couples.
Ahone Pamela from Nkikoh village was happy that her children shall smile like others on Christmas Day with enough food and drinks. “I have never seen such kindness from someone who give without expecting anything in return. My God will bless them and family abundantly.” She added.
