The Inspector of Basic Education, Nguti Sub Division, Epie Ngole Wilfred has received a consignment of books and didactic material to boost education in the community.
The consignment of education kits to Nguti was donated by Minister, Deputy Secretary General at the Presidency of the Republic, Elung Paul Che.
Speaking on behalf of the Minister, the Deputy Director General of SODECAO, Enang James Enang said the school kits are meant to boost education in the Sub Division. He commissioned the inspector to subsequently distribute the materials which comprised of eight cartons of ledgers, eight cartons of 80 leaves exercise books, cartons of 60 leaves, 40 leaves, chalks, pens, pencils, amongst others.
While receiving the materials, the inspector thanked Minister Elung for donating to revive education in the Sub Division. He said irrespective of the slow pace of schools in Nguti caused by the socio political crisis in the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon, they are working hard for schools to function effectively.
Epie said they have embarked on a door to door campaign to caution parents to cause their children to drop their weapons in the bush and embrace peace. The Inspector added that their joy is to see all children of school going age in all the villages of Nguti Sub Division sit in the classroom. “I am certain that this will be possible as we embrace peace and creat the enabling environment for our children to resume school again.” Epie added.
Meanwhile parents of Nguti also thanked Minister Elung for braving the odds to commune with them and assist their children to go to school. Nkwelle Eric hoped that God will touch the hearts of the remnant of separatist fighters in Nguti for normalcy to return.
