The traditional ruler of Muabi village Nhia Clan, Bangem Sub Division, Chief George Ntungwe Enongene has called on youths of the clan to be patriotic and productive.
Speaking to The Ultimate recently, the Chief reminded youths of Nhia that their vibrant age is the most energetic and most productive period of their lifespan, and they must invest their time wisely in preparation for the future.
He said youths are the hopes of the future and life wire of any community. “Herbert Hoover once said that when older men assert war, the youth must fight and die”. He enjoined.
“My message to the youths of Nhia as they celebrate the 57th edition of the National Youth Day is that their resolve to resume school is a decision of great wisdom that is loudly applauded because the key to development is education. Let every youth take education seriously. Your priority number one is education, priority number two is education, and priority number three is education”. He enjoined.
The Chief appealed to the youths to overcome challenges, hustle and concentrate on being creative and productive. He said Nhia clan can only develop from creativity and productivity.
The traditional ruler further cautioned the youths on values such as hard work, integrity, courage, endurance, respect, and upholding your cultural identity.
“If you do not know your mother tongue, start learning it now. Nothing good comes easy. Do not give up when you fail. Remember, when the going gets tough, the tough get going. That is the spirit of Nhia.” He cautioned
The Chief encouraged that the variety of food crops produced in Nhia clan feeds other parts of the country and beyond. However, he lamented on the deplorable state of farm-to-market roads within the clan which makes buyers to arbitrarily dictate prices to producers.
He announced that one of their goals is to craft a collective bargaining drive and appeal for an improved road network and routine maintenance of the said roads that will eventually have a multiplier effect on the clan’s economy.
According to Chief Ntungwe, Muabi, and Nhia as a whole has a large pool of intellectual and financial resources in the diaspora readily available to the youths and the community. He said youths must avail themselves to growth opportunities at all times.
He cautioned youths to be steadfast because they have powerful elites and a vibrant diaspora for collective fundraising drives. He said they also plan to seek funding from the government and other external sources to solve their problems.
Muabi is one of the six villages in Nhia clan. Other villages include; Muasum, Poala, Muelong, Mbat, and Ekambeng
