Accusing him for his infidelity, Celine C. administered a sleeping pill to Albert N. on Tuesday, before taking everything to the house they had shared for three years in Douala.
The Bakoko gendarmerie brigade (district of Douala III) was seized on Wednesday by Albert N., 39, a fisherman and oil trader. Following a coup of which he accuses Celine C, 32, with whom he had been living in marriage since 2020 in Bwang-Bakoko, not far from the leper of the Dibamba. In fact, the young woman, whom he had met at the Yassa market, emptied their common home on Tuesday night. Voices around the case say that she punished him in this way for “infidelity”.
Celine, for some time, had been informed by various acquaintances that her companion did not hesitate to see elsewhere – in a broad sense of expression. Last Monday, on the basis of new information, Celine hired Albert’s spinning mill.
At the Yassa crossroads, in a bar, she has the confirmation of her suspicions: Albert N. is sitting in gallant company, and the couple’s “body language” is eloquent. But the man will not know that he has been seen, since his concubine is not going to make a scene. She nevertheless knew that the next day on Tuesday, he would go home with money: he had to deliver goods to Edéa that day. Back from the City of Light, Albert gives 400,000 F to his companion, asking her to keep them. Then go to bed, saying he’s tired. Celine is going out for a walk.
She comes back in the early evening and finds Albert awake. According to the merchant, his companion then told him that he had a pale face, that he was heating and probably brooling a malaria. After serving him food, she then came out to get him products from a “docta”…
Albert’s last memory of this end of the day is the image of Celine giving him water and tablets. He woke up around 3 a.m., to see that his house was empty (or emptied). He shouted his “wife’s name” in vain, then called out to the neighbors.
Among the neighbors who rushed, young people also testified to haven seen Celine, sitting on the passenger side of a truck, with effects on the back of the vehicle. They even greeted her. A neighbor also confessed to Albert that she knew that Celine was preparing this blow to him with a sleeping pill, but that she didn’t tell him anything because he never offers a beer to a woman, unless she is his lover.
